Declutter Day community event banner hosted by Julie Meier in Lincoln, California

Declutter Day is my annual community event designed to help you clear out the items you no longer need and start the new year feeling lighter. Bring your donations, drop what’s broken or expired, grab a donut, and connect with neighbors while you’re here.

This event is open to friends, family, and anyone who wants a simple, uplifting start to 2026.

What to Expect

Here’s how the morning flows:

1) Arrive anytime between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM
There’s no need to come right at the start — drop in whenever works for you.

2) Sign in so we can welcome you
A quick sign-in helps us stay organized and ensures we have enough support (and donuts!) for everyone.

3) Our teen volunteers will help you unload
They’ll assist with donations, heavy items, and anything that needs to go directly into the dumpster. You don’t have to lift a thing if you don’t want to.

4) Sort donations vs. non-donations
We’ll have clearly marked areas where you can place items that can be donated, and a direct route to the dumpster for anything that can’t.

5) Enjoy a donut and say hello
Once you’re all dropped off, stay for a donut and a quick chat — or head on your way if you’re on a tight schedule.

6) That’s it — simple, helpful, and stress-free
Leave feeling lighter and ready to start the year with more clarity and space.
